This project was our last project and we could choose any theme that we did this year, I chose portraits because I love taking pictures of people. I chose as my finial to shoot Alex, I shot a close up portrait of her and her arm, I had to DIY the background with pieces of scrap paper. I think I followed leading lines, rule of thirds, and symmetry. I worked on not letting light control my photo and have it over exposed because I did shoot it outside.

Something that surprised me was how many people submitted their projects and how many photographers there were. One thing that I enjoyed seeing was how many talented people there are at east.
This project was about taking portraits with a meaning/message behind it. We had to shoot 2 portraits in the studio at school and 1 outside. My finial photos are, Lilly, showing all three of her different attitudes that she has, funny + serious + goofy. Alex, being serious, with one side of her face darker than the other portraying that her insecurities are taking over and getting the best of her. Lastly, my outdoor portrait, Nathalie, I wanted to show that pure beauty is the best beauty, because I had natural lighting and she wasn't wearing any makeup. Techniques that I learned was how to pan and take a photo that I could put together in the end and see how it would turn out. The purpose of the project was to take and put together photos that we haven't done before and put it together in a weird way. I would use this again if I wanted to take a photo that was quarky and not normal. Techniques that I used was learning how to correctly shoot with shutter speed and how to catch my object at the right time. My favorite was the sharp action one because you can clearly see my object, Leah, and her jumping. I would use this again when I want to shoot a motion photo again, with someone doing an action shot. The purpose of the assignment was to take photos and put them together in a way that tells a story. I can use the techniques that I used in this project was to see how we put our photos in a sequential photo shoot. My first photo, Lilly, is about people judging you and that it is shown by people pointing at her and her facial expressions. I made her eyes more prominent and made her dark circles darker to make it look like she had been up all night crying. In my second photo, Nathalie and Anneka, they are being catcalled. This is shown by the boys pointing at them and the girls getting mad because of it. The purpose of this project was for us to practice shooting photos with a meaning behind it. My partner, Nathalie and I, got assigned to Snapchat vs. Instagram. We learned who the creators were and how they got it created.
